Lolita Pastel Goth and Doll-Like Makeup Tips for your 30’s

Hey Everyone!

I recently started posting YouTube videos and have a series dedicated to Beauty and Skincare. I love sharing my tips on how to tend to your skin when you’re around my age, and am happy to help in any way I can. Here are a few makeup tips I use to give myself the appearance of a more of a fresh-faced and alert woman. I hope you enjoy these tips and if you have any questions feel free to contact me. I’ll do my absolutely best to help!

Lolita Pastel Goth and Doll-Like Makeup Tips for your 30's Lolita Pastel Goth and Doll-Like Makeup Tips for your 30's

  1. Brown Liner and Mascara – Black liner can weigh down your eyes and give you the appearance of looking tired, which aids in you looking older. On most days, I opt for brown liners and mascaras to give myself a little lift! I love Dolly Wink liner and mascara. They’re really affordable Japanese products and very well made! I use them every single day and recommend them.

     2. Avoid Pink and Red Shadows – I don’t like to wear these colors around my eyes since they make me look exhausted. It’s not a look I can pull off and like to stick to very light, cool toned neutrals. I’ve been using the Too Faced Natural Eyes pallet for over a year now and use it just about every single day! It’s perfect for any skin tone and there are is a nice variety of silky and matte textures. This is hands down my favorite shadow!

   3. BB Creams are Better than Foundation – I am a firm believer in BB Creams! Since my first time I have not looked back. The world of foundation no longer exists for me because BB creams are light in formula, fortified with skin friendly ingredients and give me a natural and dewy finish. I love Maybelline BB Fresh because they offer a range of BB’s for many skin tones, not just fair like mine. Most Japanese and Korean products are marketed for women with fair skin, but this American brand is great. It was my first BB and I used it religiously up until I started reviewing Japanese and Korean Skincare products.

L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review

LOreal Miss Manga Mascara in Brown Black – $6.27 from Amazon

Hey Everyone!

I purchased this mascara a while back and posted photos on my Instagram, and somehow it got lost in my sea of kawaii makeup that I had set aside to review for you guys. Now that I’ve been getting settled in Australia, I figured it was time to pull it out and give it a test run.

I will say I was really excited to try this American mascara because of the adorable packaging, and a lot of us do wish to achieve the doll-eyed look we see in manga. I’m in my 30’s and love to emulate anime aesthetic with my makeup on a much more toned down level and am constantly seeking products that will help me achieve this. Although I still wear black mascara, I do tend to lean toward brown/black or brown these days since it can really lift weight from your eyes and prevents your eyes from looking too tired, so I grabbed the Miss Manga Mascara in brown/black (pink packaging).

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review

When I opened the mascara tube I was really confused at the pivoting and extremely flexible brush head. It seemed a bit loose and the product was caked onto the bristles so it was sort of disappointing so I already had a bad feeling about this product. I warmed up the mascara in my hand by rubbing the tube between my palms for about 30 seconds thank you, Michelle Phan because after hearing her tips on this I’ve been using the same technique to warm up my mascara and it usually works.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work so well this time. The mascara was really clumpy and the flimsy brush made applying it very difficult. I could hardly get any product onto my lashes and when I did a second coat, it started to clump pretty noticeably. This mascara is so bad, I don’t think I’d keep it for backup or tutorial makeup. I like to use up my makeup products since I invest so much money to review them and even if the product isn’t comfortable, I’ll use them for photos and such or other projects.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review

The mascara smears off easily as well but at least it did not irritate my eyes so I WILL emphasize and praise LOreal for that because I’ve tried amazing looking and feeling mascaras that have wrecked my eyes when I’d cry or wash makeup off.

The Miss Manga Mascara was so poorly formulated that I had to toss it out. I was really disappointed in too many things about this product. I have tried a lot of things by LOreal that I’ve loved, and some that I’ve hated. This bad review isn’t a reflection on my feelings toward the company, but with this product solely. I won’t bother buying the LOreal Miss Manga in black to review because there is absolutely no point.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review

Miss Manga did nothing for my lashes. I lacked volume and didn’t feel like my eye makeup was complete. However, I did enjoy reviewing this product and was anticipating this post. If you would like to try LOreal Miss Manga Mascara in Brown/Black, you can purchase it HERE.  Hopefully your experience is much better than mine, but I personally would not recommend this product.

Overwatch D.Va Gremlin Cosplay Makeup

Hiya!

My son and I are huge Overwatch fans, and as a fun surprise I did my makeup today like D.Va, along with my new favorite D.Va Bunny decal t-shirt I purchased from Amazon. He loved it and so did my online friends.

I thought I’d share with you the products I used to achieve this simple and fun look. I prefer Korean-style makeup most of the time because it is so dewy and light. In my opinion, it’s a great way to accentuate your natural looks while maintaining a youthful element without looking like you’re trying too hard. I am in my 30’s after all! I’ve personally never been a big fan of the mature, heavy makeup look but mostly because I can’t pull it off well.

On Final Tip: Doritos Mountain Dew are a must to complete D.Va gremlin look! ;D I hope some of these tips come in handy for you serious cosplayers out there. Me? I just like doing this for fun! Loner Life! 😀

Overwatch D.Va Gremlin Cosplay Makeup

Products I used for this look:

     1. BB Cream by SKIN79: This BB cream is 100% my favorite brand and BB Cream by the brand. I’ve tried the gold bottle too, but in my opinion, the pink bottle is brighter. The coverage is great so remember, a little goes a long way. I like to mix it with the #2 product, Etude House Face Conditioning Cream for a more supple and hydrated look. A little goes a long way so I use a little more than a pea-size amount for the cream and double it for the BB cream.

      2.   Etude House Face Conditioning Cream: This stuff is a must in my arsenal. Sometimes BB creams can be a bit on the dry side. I have normal-dry skin so I need all the help I can get. This cream also brightens your complexion and protects skin from harmful rays from the sun, so a lot of times when I’m lazy I just apply this to my face as-is and head out for exercise/run errands. It’s a fantastic product!

3. Benefit High Beam: This highlighter is the best I’ve tired. I used to be obsessed with Artificial Light by Smashbox but seem to have a difficult time finding it these days. However, in my opinion, High Beam is even better. It gives an extremely light hint of a rose color which makes your dewy makeup look even more natural. I apply a small amount to the bridge of my nose, my cupid’s bow, cheek bones and brow bones. Sometimes I dab a little on the crease of my chin right under my bottom lip and finish with a little bronzer.

4. MAYBELLINE Stiletto Liquid Liner: For a drugstore brand, this stuff is really impressive and affordable. I paid  under $10.00 for it and it’s long lasting, not cakey and comes in brown and black. I love using brown liquid liner because as you age, sometime black liner can weigh down your eyes which make you appear a little older. So for my everyday makeup, I stick to brown liners and mascaras. I simply create a classic wing tip on my top lid.

   5. Etude house Tear Eye Liner: This stuff is delicately sparkly and completes a lot of my looks. I use this product on the bottom lids to emulate the famous aeygo look which makes your eyes look a little puffy and cute. I like that this product isn’t heavy. It gives a subtle pop to achieve an age appropriate version of cute puffy eyes.

  6. Missha LINE Friends Mascara: I like this mascara a lot. The price point is very reasonable at under $10.00 USD and it works very well. Is it the best? No, but definitely not the worst. I like it for light makeup days and it doesn’t clump up on lower lashes which is a plus.

 7. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow LinerI love this stuff, and have a few shades since I do color my hair and play with wigs. In this photo, I am using the Auburn pot, but use what best suits your aesthetic. A little goes a long way, so it’s worth the price of $18.00 USD. Works great with a small angled brow brush.

   8. Missha LINE Friends Lip Tint: I wrote a review a while back on this stuff, and used this shade, pink soda, for this look. D.Va rocks a soft pink doll lip and this lip tint is perfect for it!  This stuff is great and the packaging is super kawaii!

   9. LuckyFine Special Effects Body Paint:  If you aren’t interested in investing in a Ben Nye makeup kit, LuckyFine makes a really cool pallet perfect for those on a budget or starting out with any sort of cosplay, special effects etc. I love this stuff. It is oil based so keep in mind for smudging. I love this stuff because it does not stain my skin and I haven’t had any issue with it sweating off. It’s under $20.00 USD and overall a very diverse product.

I hope you enjoyed this simple makeup guideline! I loved playing around with this look and even happier it brought a few smiles to peoples faces.

Missha LINE Friends Lip Tint Review

Missha LINE Friends Lip Tint Review

Missha LINE Friends Lip Tint in Pink Soda $9.99 from Amazon

Hi Fam!

I have been loving the Missha LINE Friends makeup I’ve been trying lately. Recently I reviewed the Missha LINE Friends Studio Mini Eye Shadow Pallet in Cony so be sure to check that out right HERE!

I have had good and bad experiences with lip tints in the past, and usually I settle for a crimson color lip tint, but I was very intrigued by how pretty the Missha LINE Lip Tint in Pink Soda so I bought it on Amazon for $9.99 which was a pretty good deal!

Missha LINE Friends Lip Tint Review

The Pink Soda shade is very subtle, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I’m not really into bold looks, and love to keep my makeup light and airy. The formula itself was comfortable to wear under lip gloss, on a full lip or in the center of my lips which I like to rock to give that hand painted doll-like appearance at times.

My lips didn’t dry out but I will warn you, it is a lip tint, so it will stain just a little bit, but even when you wipe it away it’s not obnoxiously noticeable.

Missha LINE Friends Lip Tint Review

One of my favorite features aside from the kawaii packaging of this lip tint was the actual application brush. Most lip tints I’ve purchased have a similar brush to a nail polish, which in my experience, can be a little awkward as product can drip off of the brush, and you don’t have as much control over where the product itself is applied. I appreciated this feature Missha added to these LINE Friends Lip Tints.

Overall, I was happy with my purchase and plan on trying the other 3 lip tints from this line. I think they are a pleasure to look at and wear. The formula is well made and so far, with everything I’ve tried from the Missha Line Friends line, I’ve been pretty pleased. Stay tuned for more Missha review!

Sailor Moon Makeup

I have been looking into investing some more kawaii products to review, but had to take a moment to share all of the AMAZING Sailor Moon products I’ve come across. CREER BEAUTE Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Liquid Liner

CREER BEAUTE Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Liquid Liner

Hey Guys!

I’m super excited about sharing this review for the CREER BEAUTE Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Liquid Liner a line I covet so much! I’m always excited to try new liquid liners since I’m pretty particular. I don’t like my makeup to look or feel heavy, which is one reason why I lean toward Japanese and Korean cosmetics in the first place.

CREER BEAUTE Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Liquid Liner

This Sailor Moon Liquid Liner has a very delicate yet sturdy felt .1 mm tip, and the product itself is long-lasting. I didn’t experience any smudging throughout the day or scattering while applying to the corners of my lids. The product is light in application and wear, but pretty bold. I’ve tried many American liners which are bold but extremely heavy and weigh down for lids after a while.

My only complaint about this liner is it’s pretty small. There is only about .4 ml worth of product which isn’t much compared to other liners and for the price which is around $25.00 USD . However, the quality of the product, in my opinion, is worth the investment. I just wish there was more product and the pen was a bit larger.

Vanilla Birthday Eyelashes in No. 2 Review

Hey Everyone!

Recently I had the opportunity to try these amazing lashes from Vanilla Birthday. This post is not sponsored just a personal opinion. I was honestly sold on the macarons and cute packaging, see a trend here?

I have a hard time finding good lashes for a really low price since… high quality items usually cost more money! So when I paid about $12.00 USD for a pack of 5 lash sets, I was a little skeptical in how the quality would turn out. I love Dolly Wink lashes after all, but they can run a little high on price.

Vanilla Birthday Eyelashes in No. 2 Review

However, I was sincerely impressed with the quality of these eye lashes by Vanilla Birthday which is easily now one of my top 3 favorite lash brands. The lashes themselves are flexible, light, do not shed, do not kink and are easy to apply and remove from your eyelids.

Vanilla Birthday Eyelashes in No. 2 Review

Wig: 360  Lashes: Vanilla Birthday No. 2

I wore them for this tutorial without heavy eye makeup or liner just so you could see how light they are, and despite the length being obviously natural, the hair itself is perfectly curled and separated giving a light and natural effect.

Vanilla Birthday Eyelashes in No. 2 Review

I highly recommend these lashes and will definitely be purchasing them again in the near future since I have two pairs left. I do reuse my lashes sometimes and sanitizing them with alcohol but… let’s face it, a lot of us are lazy and toss them.

Vanilla Birthday lashes in No. 2 are perfect for me because I wear light makeup, and do not always have the time or patience to do a full face of makeup. BB cream, brows, and maybe a pop of mascara or lashes, lip balm. Done.

I personally can’t find any complaints with these lashes. However, they do not come with their own lash glue, but most of us who do wear falsies whether every day or like me, on occasion, the included lash glue is usually trash anyway. I personally recommend DUO and have been using that brand for years. It’s affordable at around $5.00 a tube, works extremely well and doesn’t irritate my eyes plus it dries clear.

Review for TonyMoly Cat’s Wink Powder

Review for TonyMoly Cat's Wink Powder

I’m going to be very honest with you, I didn’t need this Cat’s Wink compact by TONYMOLY. I don’t really wear pressed powder, and although I love makeup and girly things, I’m simply not the type of woman who has to touch up and check her makeup ever 45 minutes while out and about. I’m pretty lazy. I prefer a setting spray and a more dewy/creamy look. However… SQUEEEEEE! For about $10.00 how could I pass this little cutie up? I have indeed used it to on myself and on others since when I do bother to socialize I’m often asked if I could do other’s makeup which I always feel weird about since I’m not a makeup artist, I’m a chef! :p

Review for TonyMoly Cat's Wink Powder

As with most TONYMOLY products, it’s well made. I hate it when you receive a cute looking cosmetics product and the plastic is cheap, mirror falls off easily etc. The hinges, mirror, makeup itself stay intact and the plastic is sturdy. I love the small details in this compact as well. Although the fluffy pad is pretty useless since I’d prefer a makeup brush, it’s adorably adorned with an embroided silky ribbon reading the ‘Cat’s Wink’ logo. Very nice touch!

Review for TonyMoly Cat's Wink Powder

The powder itself for the Clear Pack also comes in beige is very translucent and works fantastic as a setting powder if you prefer to use one. I rarely do, but when I have I’ve paid close attention to how the Cat’s Wink Clear Pack works and it’s fantastic for the price for sure. It isn’t heavy or cakey. I simply love the attention that was invested into this adorable compact and it’s by far my most favorite I owned or have ever owned. Definitely fits my personal style and is effective. Keep in mind I do have dry-normal combination skin, so if you do have normal-oily skin I can’t vouch for how this product would work for you. Nonetheless if it didn’t suit your needs, at leas you’d have an adorable mirror to carry in your handbag. I’m okay with this. It’s $10.00 USD, not $40.00 like many department store products, which I don’t mind paying, but I prefer this one since it’s cute :D.

heart favicon ksc Very well made makeup product and packaging

heart favicon ksc Reusable as you can keep the kitty compact as a kawaii mirror forever

Hello Kitty Makeup Remover Wipes Review

Hello Kitty Makeup Remover Wipes Review

I’m a sucker for kawaii packaging, so when I came across this package of Hello Kitty Makeup Remover Wipes from Japan on Amazon, I HAD to try them out. I figured if I didn’t like the wipes themselves, I could always repurpose this cute container, and I was correct!

Hello Kitty Makeup Remover Wipes Review

The packaging for the wipes was a really sweet surprise, since many makeup removal products are quite boring here in the United States, I was expecting a plain, white baggy. However, packaging isn’t everything. The wipes themselves were… disappointing.

They were pretty dry, and reminded me of very cheap baby wipes to be honest. On most makeup days, I wear really light makeup; a little BB cream, my brows filled in, lip balm and maybe some mascara and eye liner. I keep it pretty simple, so these wipes were decent for extremely light makeup days. However, I won’t be purchasing any refills.

Hello Kitty Makeup Remover Wipes Review

You could use the container for baby wipes, or personal wipes as well, along with storing random stuff you have no other place (like hair pins etc.). I had originally paid $12.00 for this but now it’s sold for $18.00.WTF? Not worth it in my opinion but I was happy to try them out and receiving them in the mail did make me feel a bit excited.

PROS:

heart favicon ksc Adorable and reusable container

heart favicon ksc Container itself is very high quality and durable. Not cheap plastic.

heart favicon ksc Makeup Wipes package was very cute.

CONS:

tumblr_lkl6q24eyw1qfamg6 Way too expensive ($12 -$18)

tumblr_lkl6q24eyw1qfamg6 Wipes I received were pretty dry

Hello Kitty Makeup Remover Wipes Review

I won’t have these listed on the e-shop since I don’t recommend them, but if you still want to try them for yourself feel free to HERE. Hopefully I received a bad batch. Others who have reviewed these Hello Kitty Makeup Removal Wipes have said they loved them. Unfortunately I wasn’t one of them.
